May 25,  · CDs burning improperly? Songs skipping? Verification errors? I can help! This story started about 2 or 3 years ago in my previous car. When I would burn MP3 CDs (just simple data diss), some songs would play, some would play for a bit and then go blank, some would skip, and some discs wouldn’t even play.

Each improv fell into the minute range, and even though they thew in some interesting ideas and tidbits, it wasn't enough to make either piece worthwhile or compelling. I'm sure most in attendance felt that both improv's were a little too long, and would have rather heard some more tracks from the band's two CD's, or even a cover tune or two.

Before you dismiss the CD as a flawed storage format, many discs do reach a ridiculously long lifespan. The problem is really the variability. To get an accurate picture, you need to study a big collection of different discs from a lot of different sources. Enter the United States of America’s Library of Congress, who have just that.
